Prolonging your tan Take care of your skin and your tan will last for longer - follow these top three tips to prolong the life of your tan:
  • Build your tan gradually - using the correctly sunscreen to prevent you skin from burning and peeling. Apply thoroughly and regularly (see the five golden rules below)
  • Keep your skin hydrated - apply AfterBURN Sunburn Rescue Gel to the skin after exposure to the sun
  • Choose a gentle, non-foaming skin wash as some soaps can contribute to your skin's dryness and actually speed up the fading process
Never go without sun cream as you are exposing your skin to dangerously high UV levels. This can damage the outer layers of skin - causing irritation and peeling and lead to tissue damage deeper in the skin - resulting in skin aging, wrinkles and can ultimately lead to cancer.

  1. Apply 30 minutes before venturing out into the sun to allow the skin to fully absorb the cream
  2. Use a generous handful with each application and apply thoroughly
  3. Cover all parts of your skin that will be exposed to the sun including your ears, back, shoulders and the back of your knees and legs
  4. Use a specialised lip-balm to protect your lips
  5. Remember to reapply your sun cream at least every 2 hours - more often if swimming or perspiring heavily
